African American Poet Laureate

Lucille Clifton said, “You  might as well answer the door my child, the truth is furiously knocking”.

Given this time of COVID-19, all the systemic racism, the economic hardships, all the altered plans, we must answer the door. We Christians are committed to being a transforming presence by enabling and empowering our brothers and sisters to live in hope and joy.

We can’t just wish or hope things away or wait to get back to normal. This challenging time is the

Spirit’s invitation to see with new eyes, to be personally converted and to act with justice.

Jim Wallis of Sojourners put it this way “Prayer is Essential,

                                                                     Protest is Required,

                                                                     Policy is Necessary”
